BELGIUM: The Pedophile's Safe Haven

In Belgium, there is a great impunity surrounding pedophilia cases that is beyond comprehension.

The documentary series "Godvergeten" (Godforsaken) has brought to light the story of survivors who were abused as children by Catholic priests. These are victims who tell their stories of experiences from about 40 years ago, but today there are also a mass of victims who are still being abused and everything is neatly covered up as it always has been.

To highlight the impunity a bit, I will take the perpetrator Father Luk Delft as an example. Delft, was convicted in 2012 for the rape of two boys in Ghent. Delft received an 18-month prison sentence, fully deferred (A deferred sentence is a sentence that is suspended until after a defendant has completed a period of probation, an offender on probation is ordered to follow certain conditions set forth by the court, concretely, it means that he doesn’t effectively go to prison), under those conditions he was banned from working with minors. After receiving the deferred sentence, Delft went to Kaga-Bondoro (CAR) in June 2023 where he was charged with raping two more boys. Delft was acquitted for raping the two boys in CAR because it was not proven. He was, however, convicted of yet another rape in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, assault on another boy, possession of child pornography and violation of his conditions. For these, he received an effective prison sentence of 10 months, in addition to a 20-month deferred sentence.

In February 2024, actor Nicolas Crayers received a one-year suspended prison sentence for abusing three boys between the ages of 13 and 15. A former teacher from Antwerp was sentenced to five years in prison (suspended sentence with probation) for sexually abusing several underage boys. Another rapist was sentenced to a fully suspended 18-month prison term for raping an underage girl and sharing sex videos with other girlfriends.It is very normal in the Belgian courts, not to give pedophile rapists an effective prison sentence.

It is hallucinating how perpetrators are protected by the justice system, and the children are forsaken by both the justice system and the child protective services, while the function, the task and the available finances exist to protect the children.

My own children are victims of sexual abuse, a failing justice system and the corrupt child protection agencies.

My children have complained of sexual abuse.

At a specialized police service, with video interrogation, they made detailed statements that did not allow any doubt about the facts committed.

The facts available to the prosecutor’s office, the court and the social service were:

1. The testimony of the children

2. The testimony of friends and family

3. The police were extremely sure of the reliability of the testimony

4. My own testimony about confronting the perpetrator about his actions

5. The evidence found on the pedophile's computer:

a. A chat conversation involving a confession and sexual preference for children under or up to 10 years of age.

b. an extensive library of child pornography, with explicit images of child abuse that left nothing to the imagination

All these elements together, give to a normal person, with an average IQ, and an average education, no room for misinterpreting the risk of placing children with such a figure.

It is therefore incomprehensible, that:

1. I was accused of having influenced the children

2. I was considered unfit to raise my children

Based on the above arguments, my children were separated from me in 3 stages:

My children were placed in an institution (CKG), supposedly temporarily for observation, for 8 months.

2. Contact during those 8 months were phased out in order to arrange a complete alienation later.

3. After exactly 8 months, my children were given to the PEDOPHILE FATHER with support from his own parents, placed in the form of a foster care structure.

I was excluded and sidelined, step by step, treated as crazy and unstable.

I later found out that this was not an isolated case, but that many other mothers who were also trying to protect their children from sexual abuse were considered crazy and unstable and had lost custody of their children.

There is clearly something wrong with the Child protective services ! Why would a juvenile court judge ignore evidence of abuse and place the children with the perpetrator? Why social workers, who have no authority for making medical diagnoses, can just write a report that a mother is medically incompetent without any involvement of a medical doctor and then give the judge advice (always blindly accepted by the judge) to place a child with a child molester?

I have been informed about other cases (view sources) of mothers trying to protect their children from sexual abuse and these cases show enormous similarities with each other. Mothers are written off as crazy and unstable, evidence is destroyed and/or ignored, and investigations are willfully blocked. It is a modus operandi.

Prosecutors and juvenile courts often play a dirty role. They ensure the non-prosecution of pedophiles, block proper investigations, discredit the caring parent and organize a parental alienation between caring parent and child. In this way, the perpetrator is not punished and is given the opportunity to continue abusing the children in peace and safety.

Instead of protecting children, they create a safe haven for the pedophiles.

When you think of all the pedophile cases of the Catholic Church that were minimized and/or covered up, it is no surprise that the Child protective services is completely in the hands of CD&V, the Catholic party.

The ministry of welfare (responsible for CPS ) has historically always been represented by CD&V. Justice is also almost completely controlled by CD&V.

Why are pedophiles always covered, protected, put out of prosecution or punished with a warning ?

Why is the custody of children being given to pedophiles ?
